Strong: Visible in official footage, or corroborated by the 2022 leak and since matched by a trailer. Still not a Rockstar statement.
Weak: A single unnamed source, a forum post, or an account with no track record. Interesting, not reportable as fact.
Debunked: Contradicted by official material, or traced back to a fabricated screenshot or a mistranslation.

The September 2022 development leak

Roughly ninety clips of pre-alpha GTA VI footage were published after an intrusion into Rockstar's internal systems. Rockstar confirmed the breach was real, which is why this leak carries more weight than most.

The important caveat: the footage was years from release and showed placeholder assets, debug overlays and unfinished systems. It confirmed the two-protagonist structure and the Florida setting well ahead of Trailer 1. It is not a reliable guide to how any specific mission, vehicle or mechanic works in the shipping game.

Claims that keep coming back

Map-size comparisons. Side-by-side images claiming GTA VI is a precise multiple of GTA V's map circulate constantly. Rockstar has never published a map size for GTA VI, and the source images are fan reconstructions.

Day-one online. Rockstar has said the launch build is single-player. Posts promising a full online mode on November 19 contradict that directly.

Leaked release dates. Every date before November 19, 2026 has been superseded. Retailer listings and placeholder dates are not announcements.
