GTA 6 FAQ
Answers to the questions asked most often about Grand Theft Auto VI: the release date, platforms, pricing, editions, setting and multiplayer.
When does GTA 6 release?
Rockstar has confirmed November 19, 2026 as the release date on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date shifted twice — first from a Fall 2025 window, then from a revised May 26, 2026 date — with Rockstar citing extra polish time both times.
Which platforms is GTA 6 launching on?
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only at launch. No PC version or release date has been confirmed. Based on GTA V's pattern, a PC release — if it happens — would likely land well over a year after console launch.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
Standard Edition is priced at $79.99. The Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Both prices are confirmed for the US market.
How do I pre-order GTA 6?
Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 through the PlayStation Store, Xbox/Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store, and participating retailers. Both the Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99) editions are available to pre-order now.
What's inside the Ultimate Edition?
A '95 Grotti Cheetah with a retro-futuristic livery, access to One-Eyed Willie's off-road mod shop in Lake Leonida, the Goodtime Gear apparel capsule inspired by in-world show character Macca the Gator, and two exclusive side missions.
Who are the lead characters?
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos — a criminal couple whose dynamic is openly modeled on Bonnie and Clyde. Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in a modern-era GTA title.
Where is GTA 6 set?
The fictional state of Leonida, a Florida-inspired setting built around Vice City — Rockstar's take on Miami — plus several surrounding regions beyond the city limits.
Does GTA 6 have online multiplayer at launch?
No. Rockstar has described GTA 6 as a single-player experience at launch on November 19. Take-Two has confirmed GTA Online (the GTA V version) keeps receiving support and will coexist rather than being replaced on day one.
